Oi!! You leave those Leylands alone!! I'll never forget going with my dad to fetch a Constuctor 3030 From Swansea one day, It had the Fuller splitter box, the tunes he played on it trying to get out of a side street!! Once on the move though, the bluddy thing flew - had a Rolls Royce ( perkins ) lump in it - showing at least 70 all the way home!!

Any of you boys had a play with a twin splitter? That separates the men from the boys!!

Anyone not from the 'trucking' fraternity, sorry to bore you!!

I hate getting vehicles in at work with the twin splitter. I just have to pick a gear and keep it there to get into the workshop.
The guys who drive them regularly say they are the best box you get!

The guys at your work are right, but I know many people that would call me a liar..

Always fancied taking HGV1 test, just never got around to it.

Polish workers - The agencies hire them out at silly rates. They make the money. Not the workers....

I ran a driver agency for 6 years, great times, everyone made good money, Me, drivers everyone was happy.

Too many short cuts nowdays - as u say Polish workers, chuck Tacho's in the bin after double shift 7 days a week just to make what my guys got for a 40 hour week.

Lets see how they cope with the new Digital Tacho's

Got 4 18t's at work with them on already, and any truck put on the raod from May 1st needs them now.

Talking to the guy from the RHA and its easier to crack a chip and pin bank card than it is the new drivers cards.

Ah the roadranger gearbox. Three weeks to learn to drive the truck, three months to learn to change gear smoothly. For those of you who remember it, I passed my HGV Class 1 in a Scammell Crusader complete with a steering wheel the size of a small country

Bit before my time Gary! Cheiftans and then the roadtrain for me with the eaton twin split! I got a right shock when my Agency posted me an application form for the new digi tacho, reading throught the notes and it's £39 for the new card. I'm not paying it, if they want me to drive my employers can pay!
