    Default argos car fault code machines

    i have just seen these in the argos catalog does anyone think they will be any good or has anyone got one may be a good investment.
    what do people think would cost about same price as a couple of trips to the stealers.

    The more expensive one doesn't work at all on my 2003 2.2 DTI because it won't talk to it. It is probably only compatible with diesels from 2004 - you'll notice this with quite a few code readers.

    It also didn't read a code on a 2002 GSi V6. Not sure why - perhaps it only reads generic codes and not manufacturer-specific ones.

    Has anyone tried one of these?

    as soon as mine is out of warranty I will get one, one or two on ebay I like.

    A mate on mine had a very high tech system, operated via bluetooth onto the laptop. The car made a bing but damm else all..... tech2 is the only way to go on this me thinks.

    Dont bother withthe Argos ones you can get the same ones on Ebay far far cheaper, the Argos ones have just been made with RAC on them.

    Mine was £20 on Ebay and works fine
