    Question Job in UK

    Hi Vectra maniacs ,
I want to ask you some advice.
First I explain situation: I worked as director of furniture factory, then decided to create my own factory/joinery. I took loan from bank and mortgaged my own home. Everything was OK, bet then started this crisis and local market shut down. Also export market is too hard to find, and it looks like, if we can't find investors or buyers of company, we lost not only company, but also our home.
There is not possible to find new job in Latvia, not only companies going to bankruptcy, but also state institutions released peoples.

Is there any possibility to find job in UK. I know crisis are in UK too, but not such big as Latvia.
Of course I'm not looking for chairman/director job. I can do everything. I have bachelor’s degree in economics, with specialization management, business. I finished Latvian University of Agriculture, thats mean I know basic of agriculture, building, drainage, etc.
I have fork experience in IT - 3 years worked in State revenue service as sysadmin (~90 computers), some years worked as chairman of furniture factory. Created Internet shop which selling goods made in Latvia. I created, managing and coaching girls football club. i know Latvian, English, Russian, some basics of German.

I can work basic jobs - cut grass, picking, packing, work in warehouse, fix computers, work in security (191cm/102kg) etc. Also I can do market researches, expand business in Latvia (Baltic, Russia), translate web pages, work in customer service for Latvian clients, can work as furniture quality controller.

In brief: I must find job to feed my family (I, my wife, two daughters - oldest 6 years old, youngest 9 months old).

If you can offer job or have advice - please write here or send mail to: lacom.biz@gmail.com

thanks Soulman, I sent some cv's to some job offers, but it's looks like there are some problems. They are asking for NI number, but to get NI number I need job. Also they are asking am I living in UK, telling that I can relocate in some days doesn't help.

I think best way is to find job though friends, but I don't have much friends in UK. As I said, I'm ready to do (almost) any job.

I go to Splading every day and there are a lot of Latvians that basically pack flowers for Marks and Spencers. The money isn't very good and it's seasonal but there's an awful lot of Latvians out on the East of England. I think if you're looking to be a director of a company you'll be fighting off a lot on Brits as well and like most of us there are very few good jobs around and it's a case of taking what you can get!

I wouldn't look at UK as the Golden Cow any more as not only is our country sinking fast you also have to remember the exchange rate is nearly £1 to 1Euro. Good luck!

j13hdb - i'm not looking for highest level jobs. I'm ready to work almost any job. Why I want to go to England - learn better English, there is not such big chaos as in Latvia, not such big crisis (pessimistic scenarios predicting unemployment to 40-50% (now ~12%)), cheaper clothes, electronic and I want to see real FOOTBALL

I've found out today that they all work for an agency and are paid about £5 an hour for heavy manual work which is very poor but they live in rented houses with 4 or 5 of them all working and paying the bills. Try speaking to this agency-
    Galaxy Personnel

    11, Portland St, King's Lynn, Norfolk PE30 1PB
    Tel: 01553 692888

they seem to deal with a lot of Latvians but it is all hard manual work!

Well things are hard enough for familys over here as it is. Work is getting harder to find, when you do get work the wages are less.
You would be best to stay where you are, you should`nt be running away from your problems, you had it good,
i have had a real hard time in the 80`s. Nearly lost everything.
But got through and appreciate what i have now.
This country can not cope as it is.
    Good luck.
