Default hesitation when cold 3.0 v6

thought the cause of this might have been dirty fuel ,s got some millars to give it a flush and fitted a new fuel filter.

i only appears when you put the boot down and once the car has warmed up there seams to be no problem ,i recently fitted a K&N element filter could this be causing the problem with the car being cold???

or could it be a MAF problem

anybody any ideas?? or any possible remedys

    Vehicle : Opel Signum

    Trim : Sport

    Engine : 3.0 CDTI

    Year : 12/03

    Default

I've never heard of MAF failure on the 3.0CDTi or any Isuzu engine.
Since this Isuzu crap is exocita it could be a dodgy EGR, boost sensor, injectors, fuel pump, etc. You never know.....
I'm just being extremly negative about this engine right now since it's giving me sleepless nights!

I would, 1st of all, check the EGR valve.

The egr only opens when the engine is under load, more than 30% throttle. Its not an easy job on the V6 but if you remove the plastic engine cover, there is a metal ridged pipe on the left hand side that goes to the egr. Remove that and you can see inside the egr
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

if it was the ERG would the problem not be there all the time not just when the car is cold.

the other thing is the car has NEVER had a problem starting this hesitation is only happening when the car is cold and seams worse when it is very cold in the mornings.

well folks it turns out that it was the air flow meter(MAF) managed to get one sorted through a few mates (wink, wink nudge, nudge) for the right money and all is A OK again.

and just to add i would say to anybody washing there car to be carefull when using jet hoses etc not to spray it in through the grill because thinking back this is when my problems started, and i beleive some water got sprayed into the MAF and fooked it up.
