    Default Ripped off

I left my previous job on the 13th of february this year(friday the 13th) and have been waiting in vain to get all the money owed to me by them. the costs so far are:£819 in untaken holiday pay,£260 in missed bonus payments,£150 in statutory sick pay and £225 in bank charges because of unpayed wages going into my account on time. Now today I phoned my solicitor who is trying to claim all the money for me who told me that the company (greencycle plc) has went into administration as from the 24th of march and she would try to persue it through the administrators. Now my question is, does anyone know if I will recieve all the money owed to me or will I just get ripped off

Think you will be on a hiding to nowt mate. When a company goes under, all the assets are pooled and go to pay off their creditors. You and your ex co-workers will be last in line

wages are not last in line, in fact very high in the list of creditors. Tax is now at the bottom of the list IIRC. Remember creditors often get X pence in the pound. Say for example the company owes 50,000 and has assets worth only 10,000 (after costs) then creditors would get 20p for each £ owed.

I have also only just opened my mail as i have been busy only to find a letter from the administrators stating from the 24th of march 2009 I would no longer have a job and am therefore redundant..hmm..I put a letter into work telling them I was leaving on the 13th of february, now this letter states 24th of march of my leaving date. It also says that a good portion of the amounts owed will be payed as well as lieu of notice. Now am I right in thinking lieu of notice is 90 days. If so this may work in my favour as I'm sure 90 days lieu of notice plus all my holiday entitlement would be a great deal more than the £1400-£1500 that they owe me. also as It was a job which was sub-contracted by the council they (apparently) said they would pay any wages outstanding if the worst happened. fingers crossed for me then...might get my 2.0t with a bit of luck
