    Default Tyre recommendations

Well after driving on the crappy Acceleras that Vauxhall decided to give me as my 4 free tyres, I've decided to break out the credit card and get some decent rubber on the wheels. Im not too clued up on tyres though, so I'd appreciate any recommendations that people have. Chances are I'll be going for something from here http://www.performancealloys.com/res...=tyres_by_size
as they're just down the road and have a good selection. So which of those(if any) under £125 a piece would anyone pick? Thanks in advance guys!

215/50/17 Accelera alphas. And they're horrible! Im looking at the 225/45/17 as there seems to be a wider range available.

    I'v used:

    NCT'5s which were pish
Toyo Proxes (which are great but really soft, wear out quick)
Michelin Pilot Sport (really nice but expensive)
Goodyear Eagle F1 (great in dry, not so great in the wet)

Iv heard good things about Uniroyal Rainsport 2 which I'll be trying next. Just depends what you want from your tyre, dry grip, wet grip, long lasting etc

Try the Goodyear Eagle F1's in 225/45 size. They will be my next choice for my own car.

Some reviews from Vectra owners, including some about the Eagle F1's, im wearing them out quick and im not a fan in the wet under power, but they are good day to day tyres.

Dunlop sp 3000 (215/50/17) good quality tire loads of grip in the wet or dry, £360 for all 4 corners from National, Kwik fit wanted over £500 for the same tires. If I had money to throw away I would go for the michelin

Go and talk to the guys at Modern Tyres in Antrim. I get my tyres there, last time I got Bridgestone Turanza ER300 in 225-45-17 for £105 fitted. Really good tyre, better grip than the factory fit NCT5, and last longer too.

The prices on that site are at least £25 too dear. At least.

Modern Tyres is next to the railway station in Antrim, the guys do a good job, no problems recommending them at all.
