Just thought I would share my first vauxhall dealer experience.
Had a few niggles on my 03 SRI Ive only had it four weeks so did not know how good a third year warranty would be also not sure cos I bought it from a car supermarket rather than a dealer.
Booked it in Greenhouses Shrewsbury offered me a courtesy car straight away good start
I had a steamed fog light a stiff gearbox and a faint squeak when ticking over . Thought whilst it was in I would mention the door rattle.
Off I went at 5 to pick it up wondering what I would be told.

Gearbox linkage adjusted and greased
New Fog light ordered
New Belt for something or other ordered
Door stripped loose wire causing rattle sorted

And a visual check of the car thrown in

All done under warranty nothing but praise for vauxhall at the moment.

My last 2nd yr warrenty issue was they wouldn't replace 40k rear shocks, which i thought was really poor myself.

Mind you my dealer has had it's stick up me in all ways, sold me a lemon, then welched on the upkeep deal, broke a bolt and kept the car an extra day, cant stock bolts mate too many of them, how about making sure you have all the bases covered before starting the job then, especially as the bolt is prone to shear due to it's location on the car, and in my opinion the bolts should have been replaced anyway, oh and another thing, they just sold my mate a Q car that has had a good smash as well, no laquer on the inner wing, what does that say, oh and another thing, I wanted to return the car under the 14 day thing, oh no, I'll have another car then, ok, £13k's worth, we'll let you have a 50k Vectra that belongs to Avis, straight swap.

Nice job, sounds like they bent over backwards for you! It's always nice when a dealer goes the extra mile in the name of customer service...

My local dealer looks after me because I work within the same dealer group, but I'm yet to find something that they replace after first year's warranty expires... they're not very obliging when it comes to that.

This is good to know. Will be moving down around Shrewsbury soon (once the house sells) so knowing that there is a good VX dealer is an added bonus.
