    Default brake torx bits

    hi all does anyone know the torx bit size that holds front brake caliper in place on a 2002 veccy 1.8 i went to do job today & there it was not allen key bolts but torx bit type so can anyone please advise coz wife is going to leave if i dont get rid of the annoying squeeling

    You putting copper grease of the BACKS of the pads and sliding surfaces?

    Sorry, don't know the torx bit size.

    yip ive greased all sliding parts & back of pads squeeking still there

    Dont know the size, but do know they are held on with loktight..make sure when you get the right size, the torx is of a good quality..(changed my discs foe drilled and grooved)

    I think he has warped disc somewhere on the car AF, from what he says in his other post it sounds like an intermittant rubbing causing the squeak, that or a bearing or bush is wearing.

    ive got a set of new fronts at home..they came off a vec-b, but they fit ours..

    There are two fixing's steve..when I dismantled the GSi's brakes it had Torx fixings and 7mm allen's, that were hidden behind the plastic caps..The torx were for holding the caliper together and must never be undone. These bolts are stretch bolts and will not give the same clamping force once disturbed..

    The 7mm allen one's are the one's to remove to get access to the pads..
