    Default How 2?

I'm rapt with my Vectra but a number of things have confused (i.e. why did they do that). I have asked a number of things on this forum and all help has been greatly received.

Thus I have a question about the interior. Wht, on the steering wheel, would you place two 'metal' type covers and one black plastic one. To trick up the interior a bit I was playing with the idea removing all three covers, PLUS the other 'metal' trims through the car and getting them all painted the same colour. Has anyone done this or could anyoine at least tell me how to get these things off.

Also, as it appears to be an expensive exercise to get irmscher or any other gear (Body styling stuff) over here to OZ, I wondered if anyone had played with removing the front grille and lowere plastic 'mesh' and installing a flat piece of steel mesh. Would love to see

    Thanks guys

You can get a 'metal type' cover for the lower middle arm on the steering wheel. Part no's etc I can't help with but they are available from memory, but probably not here but in the UK/EU. I'm sure someone here has spoken about it before.........I think........

I got one for the bottom spoke in granite/metallic charcoal colour.
It was from the Astra, used the part number for the matt chrome to work out the one I needed with the dealer.
They do need filing to fit, I also had to cut down the piece on the back for the screw(too long).
Just looked on a previous post, part number of matt chrome lower spoke is
    93179295
Would need filing to fit though. If you need a different colour, the EPC at dealers should list options.

You know, it's funny! I was sat in a traffic jam yesterday, looking at my steering wheel and thinking how much nicer a silver insert for the lower part of my steering wheel would look... I wonder why it wasn't standard because it would look so much better...

I might consider investing in that part...

I always look down at the wheel & try to visualise how it would look. I guess it doesn't have an insert as it would break up the parrallel lines of the current faux looking metal inserts running along the door trim through the dash & wheel.

Still looks better with it though IMO.

I spotted an Astra H SRi parked in town when I was shopping yesterday, and it had the silver insert on the lower spoke... how annoying...
