Default Will the problems ever end??? Any advice welcome!!

    My car is a 2006 56reg vectra 1.9cdti 150 auto elite estate

Since buying the car in 2007 i've had a new gearbox in early 2008, a new inlet manifold in summer 2008 (swirl valve problem i think) + a new air flow sensor and had the high pressure diesel pump overhauled.

I've just got the car back after another stretch in the garage this time having a new diesel partical filter in the exhaust at great expense and its still not right.

The new DPF has fixed the main problem as it was blocked sold and the car would not even start but the car still has a lack of power before the turbo kicks in. It had this problem before the car went in and the garage also commented on it. They said there is an error code (air leak in the inlet) but they cant find a air leak. They thought the wastegate was sticking so they cleaned that up but no improvement.

From the advice on here i've cleaned the EGR+solinoid and cleaned the boost sensor which were both seriously black but there was only a slight improvement.

From time to time I will get the spanner light when I first cold start in the morning but then it goes out after 500yds (the car starts fine).

    Any advice welcome, thanks Andy

Wish i'd got a petrol now mate, but i've still got 18months finance left to pay on this one. My old 2ltr dti did 234k with only general maintainence and a few air flow meters so I naturaly went for another vx diesel.

You can't unplug or block the EGR on the CDTi - it'll always throw the EML and most of the time will go in to limp mode.

TRy your vacuum actuattors/solenoid ,s. take the hose off of the unit and try to detect some suction , only 0.6 bar when working normally (just wet finger to test )if nothing found reverse test to other hose
If nothing detected suspect actuattor/solenoidi s faulty very common fault which will not show up on a tech 2, similarly check all vacuum hose are correctly positioned they often get reversed by people that dont know what there doing..

Just did the airbox mod while I was under the bonnet and gave my air flow meter a clean. No difference there but it was worth doing while my hands were dirty.
