    Default CD 70 Navi Drain

    Hi there,

    I need some help.

I just bought a second hand Vauxhall Signum number plate from 2006.

But on last month i just had a problem with the battery, it s was getting flat without any reason, so I decided to take the car to my local Vauxhall garage for an investigation to find out the cause of the problem .

They did find out a problem with the radio, which keeps draining the battery flat.

The radio works fine, but if I leave the radio connect to the car next day the battery is flat.

So now I jleft the stereo disconnected off the car and the battery doesn't get flat anymore.

I also have the parrot device installed in the car.

I was advised by Vauxhall garage to buy a new unit for the car, which for me is not a good option at momment, the price is just under £800.

Have checked on ebay and finded one:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...Category=10404

Also found this website and they can repair radios unithttp://www.autotekelectronics.com, does anyone use this services?

Can anyone tell me please if this is a chance to get this unit repaired or how to solve this problem without spending £800.

If this is possible I would like to have some help/advise, thank you

    GC

Find one which has been 'unpaired' 'divorced' on ebay and then it should be a matter of unpairing yours and then pairing up the new one. Seen them go for about £160 on ebay

the radio and screen are matched to each other, meaning you cant use one without using the other, unpairing means putting it back to factory default and you can use either unit seperately.

    Hi,

I would really check the wiring before spending on a new head unit and or battery. To drain the battery overnight - assuming that the battery is good - is a large drain/ short or earth leakage.

TBH - I would remove the Parrot device first and try that. The likely culprit could be the harness/ ISO adaptor or whoever installed the Parrot probably took a live from the cigarette lighter/ similar - that is more likely to be the cause.

That aside - have the battery proven or an alternator check and check the earth straps on the car.

Worse case - source a used Navi Head Unit from a breakers or dismantlers - make sure that it is de coded from the vehicle that you procure from and you will need it re coding to work in your Siggy.

unpaired ,uncoded ,reset any unit must be rest before it is taken out of a car and then uploaded when fitted to new car by tech2 .if not i may not work properly and will throw up fault or miss match codes..also the headunit must be paired to the screen if not they wont work . units cannot be unpaired reset uncoded after they have been taken out of there original car

    Hi Matt

    Thanks for the tips.

I check the wiring and is fine, the unit take the normal power form battery about 13 amperes.

The battery is been check too and is one good condition and also the alternador.

I will now check the earth straps on the car and the parrot.

I also find a used Navi Head Unit from a breakers, for £356.50 and they give me a 3 mth warranty and the radio will be reset ready for reprogramming into my car.

But will have to be done by either Vauxhall or someone with Tech 2.

    Thanks again..

Default Battery issue with CD 70 Navi

    Hi There

I have check the battery, the alternador and the earth straps at VX garage and everthing is normal.

Now I will remove the Parrot device form the and see what happend.

I still think the problem is with the Navi Head Unit, because I remove the Unit from the car a week ago and I have no problems so far with flat battery again.

This problem start after I have updated the Parrot device, from V.2.10 to V.2.11 D.

Any ideas how to solve my issue?

    Thanks...
