Default Immobilising a 3.2 at the airport.

A contractor at work is off on holiday soon and will be leaving his car at Gatwick. It will be in one of the on-site airport carparks (operated by BAA)where you don't hand your keys in.

He's got a steering wheel lock but asked if there's any way you can easily immobilse the engine? In the "old"days, I'd have suggested taking the rotor arm out and the removing the HT lead from the coil.

Is there anything you can take off/disconnect on the 3.2 V6 to reduce the risk of it walking off?

It'll be pretty hard to start without the key. If you really wanted to remove something you could take away or unplug the engine control module

There is no point. Unless you have the immolbiliser key transponder (or an emulator !) you won't be driving it away.

Software lock is the most effective anti drive away theft device.

Obviously it won't stop a very determined thief from towing it away.....

Just make sure you leave as little property in the car, and if you do have to leave anything put it ALL in the boot
The glovebox does not have a lock and is therefore not covered on most comprehensive or home contents all risks cover
