Default Key looking tatty - any suggestions?

    Hi all

My key is really starting to look pretty tatty, to be fair it was when i bought it. With this, the remote central locking distance is down to a couple of metres so i was thinking about sorting them both out at the same time.

Now, i could go to the stealers, pull my pants down and bend over... but wondered if there are any DIY or cheaper ways of buying a new one and reprogramming? i've seen some threads about putting the key in the ignition and a sequence of buttons???!??

I've got a pre face lift 04 DTi. Any advice is welcome!

Those keys a proper poor. My Omega had that sort of key, Infact it looks just like my old key. You need to get it sorted soon m8. If its anything like mine you wont be able to lock it soon.
