    Default Sun glasses holder

This might be a dumb question but here goes. How do I do the above mod? I ordered the sunglasses holder today from Vx (£8.32) but I am a bit reluctant to just pull the grey bit of plastic away from the roof of my 1.9 CDTi SRi 05. Do I just brave it and give it a tug or is there anything I need to do so as to ensure no damage. Also once I do get the grey plastic plate off does the new bit just go in a hole that is already there or am I gonna find that there are more bits I require to complete the mod?

Will be gratefull for any assistance here to save me from making an expensive mistake. Thanx

I'll second that! did this mod myself half an hour ago, quick tug on the plate as above then it clips in, easiest thing I've done yet. you don't even need a screwdriver or anything to pull the panel out, u can get it with your fingers.

I was doing the whole sunglasses holder/map light conversion, if only it was all so easy with clips, I see theres torx screws in there, oh well it'll wait till 2moro.....

Well the sunglasses holder was easy, but I'm gettin seriously *****d off that the map lights, a SIMPLE mod, is causing me hassle! I got some torx bits off ebay seeing as everything on the car has these screws and I can't borrow my neighbours every day! So the light units been sitting for days and the torx bits finally arrive today so I get on with it, but the only thing i can attach them too is an electric screwdriver which doesnt fit through the long narrow bit up to the screws aarrghh!!!

Your right there david173. You also need to slide your hand in the glasses holder hole to push a couple of clip to the side once you take the torx out. Unclip the alarm sensor cover and lower it down. Do not tug or you will break the ribbon cable. 15 min job. Plus if you fit the rear light you can controle it from the front.

I managed with a small flat blade screwdriver(3-4mm). But did it carefully! My Torx bits where a problem too and I could wait to get to the shops. You'll need the Screwdriver anyway to unplug ultra sound sensors rain sensors and the like if fitted.

Sorry mate dont know what happened there, clicked on the page and your reply wasnt there sent mine and then yours came up .
But anyway went to Reg Vardy at the Whirrles roundabout (Parks) as this one is only a stones "lob" away from my house. Get on great with the service guy but the parts guy is a bit of "oh do I have go and check part no's, its not my job" a banger.
    What about yourself mate.....
