Wrong pads?

Took the pads off my signum today with a view to replacing them and I'm not sure if I've been sold the wrong ones from the dealer....

It's the rear pads and the inside one when removed, has two springs on one side that slide into the groove on the piston. Although the new ones look the same, they do not have this set up on the back of the pad.

The box states that the pads are def for my car (Z22YH).

The pads I've got have a different spring on the inside pad. This time it's at the top of the pad like it's to prevent movement.

Has anyone else come across this? When I originally bought the pads I was told the part number had changed and so I'm thinking that the pad may have changed too. My only issue is why would the original pads have this spring for the piston and the new ones not?

This is a pic of the pad I removed - you can see the spring/clips. These are not on the new pads.

The new ones you have probably have a spring on top like a butterfly, these are the same pads and fit and work ok as VX have changed the design.

Just place both pads into the carrier and slide the caliper over the top.

Thanks for that. I take it then that VX no longer make the ones pictured? Will the new type be secure? There's nothing supporting the piston against the pad with the new type.

VX no longer make the ones pictured, the new design ones are secure when its all bolted back together.

The piston always sits against the inner pad so it will be secure, and thats why they wear down quicker than the outside ones.
