Default Boost sensor on V6 CDTI...Where the hell is it?

Finally got DMF sorted and now 'turbo boost pressure sensor not within parameters' or some such code decides to rear its ugly head.

I'm going to do the usual stuff before I decide to change the sensor (check for loose or split hoses, which seems favourite since the turbo was removed to do the DMF!),but I need to no where it is so that I can remove and clean it.

it's screwed into the intake manifold, under the engine ECU..

Beware thou.. cabby's started displaying this code before it had injector pump trouble..

Isn't the ECU on the air box ? Or is it the one over the EGR ?

I'm guessing it's the hoses, since they were taken off to do the DMF.No problems until then.

Its a small grey sensor on the rear right of the engine under a load of cables and crap. Its got boost written on it IIRC. Remove the cover on the top and have a poke about.

I've just bought a boost pressure sensor off e-bay for a tenner! (how much are they new?)

It may not be any good, but on the other hand..................

Cleaned the sensor and all seems well after a little bit of 'spirited' driving.

Nice result, mine was blocked up when I took it apart and the monkey that had fitted it had chopped the seal when he put it in!

Goes really well now,and seems to boost much higher and for longer.

It's a bit of a nightmare to get to.

You've got to undo the black breather tube that runs across the top of the engine from left to right and unclip it from the turbo inlet. Then you've got to remove the device that sits above the sensor, just undo the top bolt and pull it away from the bottom rubber after you've disconnected the two black tubes from one end and the electrical cable from t'other.Be careful not to knock the air filter off it! Then unclip the tube that runs across the engine from back to front,so that you can get to the left hand bolt on the sensor.Remove bolts (still fiddly)and electrical cable, pull out sensor and clean.Refitting is reversal of removal.Job done.
