    Default condensation in oil

    hiya all,

Been having a problem with my 2.2 signum direct for a while now, and need to try and sort it.

As my car is left on the drive all the time and i only drive short (10-15m) journeys i am getting sludge in my oil.

And its blocking the crankcase pressure valve (pipe comes from rocker via valve to inlet manifold).

Which at the moment i have to remove every week and remove all the sludge from it.

So what would happen if i removed the valve altogether and replaced it with a normal through pipe, as i think the valve is just making it worse.

Will the small amount of moisture that gets through do any damage else where (like cat).

Its not coming from the coolant, as i have no loss.

    cheers for any help

    scott

Short Jorneys will cause this. I don't know if its fitted to your but on vectra B 20ltr you could buy a breather kit for the engine from VX to stop this.

I've recently had to clean this out of the rubber hoses going from the cam cover to the throttle body.
It's because your engine isn't getting warmed up enough on your journey.

Mine is due to my thermostat possibly stuck open, which is letting the engine run too cool.

Had the same on my old 2.2 Direct. IIRC VXL recommend changing the oil more often when driving fairly short journeys to help with problems like this.
