holy poo - rule is wash regularly with non acidic cleaner!
got a bottle that has been gathering dust for 2 years cos I'm scared of using it...mind you though the lid and brush is handy for applying tyre dressing...
have found in the past that you can reduce any damage to alloys by wetting them first then aply the alloy cleaner but only as a last restort...can,t beat regular washing and polishing alloys to keep them clean
I would never use alloy wheel cleaner, rough stuff, just keep on top of it and they are easy, and buy easy clean wheels as well *lol*
I've got 5 litres from cosco for £8 the other day, never had a problem with it, but then I do one wheel at a time and hose and sponge it straight off. Even on the Chrome plated wheels on my old Mondeo. They were chipped and scuffed when I bought it, but it still didn't make it any worse.
It would take more than an £8 tub from cosco to make a mondeo look any worse
Cheeky ******s, That wasn't a bad car I'll have you know!! Just a bit too slow.
