    Default Adding acetone to fuel?

Just been reading on VVOC about adding acetone to fuel to reduce surface tension and create better emulsification in the cylinder, thus producing a better burn and more power/efficiency...

I'm up for trying most things but I'm not sure I want to jump in with this one.

I've done it on a few occasions matey. If definately pulls harder, but I wouldn't recommend it long term.

Best to buy a good quality diesel instead.

Just take out the spare wheel..... you'll get a bigger performance difference and save money.... until you get a puncture....

Most chemists sell it -it's used for nailvarnish removing!
It's a very powerful grease solvent, so I guess that it may reduce the effectiveness of the lubrication in the bores.

If used regually, I would imagine it would degrade seals and increase wear, both in the fuel pump and the engine.

I added 60ml to every 40 litres of fuel. But only use it (if you really have to) once in a blue moon IMO.

Probably get shot here, only my opinion, but here goes ...

Do you guys think you have bought the right car ? If you are going to this extreme I would suggest a vectra wasn`t the ideal choice in the first place ??
