    Default dmf flywheel

my car has just started to rattle yesterday when in gear and on clutch but it stops when you take your foot off the clutch. It doesnt happen all the time. Vauxhall said its the start of the dual mass flywheel to go - just wondering how long it will last and also would it be covered under the warranty as i have had it lowered and got a vxr kit on it.

p.s i know they got to check for blue burn marks on the clutch before they do it. just wondering if anything else would cause it not to be covered??

    Cheers

DMF is a consumable, so unless its fails very early, it won't be covered.

My DMF has been rattling away for the last 12k that I've owned the car, and I don't know how long before that, its starting to get a bit noisy now, so I'll be swapping it out, with a new clutch this week (car is 1.9cdti 150 and has done 154k on originals).

They go for about £350ish on ebay and they are not much dearer at the dealers, its the labour that stings you as the whole of the sub frame has to be dropped alongside the gearbox.
