    Default Front Pipe Problems!

    Had my exhaust looked at today {3.2 elite}as sounded like it was blowing. It turns out to be the flexi on the front pipe. The front pipe is a Vauxhall only part and is £500

    The garage will supply me and fit a flexi for £150 but still alot of money for such a small section.

    Dunno what to do?

    Any ideas?

    Have you any custom exhaust places near you, like Powerflow etc... they could be cheaper....

    i know vectras are obviously differant to astras.... but before i brought my vectra,my astra flexy exhaust thing fell to bits and it was connected to the cat (meeeeowww) anyway, went to my local parkers and brought the flexy part for £30 yes £30 !
    my mate is a welder so i took the exhaust part off with the flexy part in it, used hes recipicating saw to cut the old one off,and he welded the new part in. job done

    so if youve got a parkers near you,give them a try mate, it would help if your old one was off your veccy as although it might not be listed in there book,there pretty much the same on most cars,and they will match it up for you.

    def better than paying £500

    good luck mate, lollypop

    I had that problem with a 2.2 veccy b. My local mechanic welded a new flexi pipe in and i never had a problem with that again. However the welds strenthened it so much it could'nt flex properly and my cat split near the top, but we just welded that up also.

    You could try autovaux – they saved me 50% of dealer RRP for the same (genuine) part.

    WOW, that is some profit.

    My flexi went on my old C 1.9 CDTI, I bought a new flexi pipe for (I think) £25-£30.00, and paid a local back street garage £35.00 to cut the old piece out and weld in a new one. Right as rain within about £70.00.
