    Default questions about clay....

iv'e just used a meguiars clay bar on my car with phenomenal results but now iv'e finished how do i store the clay bar? do i have to wrap it up in anything to prevent it going hard? also now i've used it it looks pretty dirty with all the grime it picked up off my paintwork is there any way of cleaning it as i can't see it lasting that long if not?

I wrapped my clay in a food bag mate used it yesterday after it was sat for about 8 months and it was perfect,as for cleaning it i dont think you can clean clay just turn and mend it to a new clean bit.

Standard practise is to not use it on the paint again. I keep mine to use on the wheels but it goes nowhere near the paint.

You should only need to clay the car twice a year under normal circumstances so the Sonus Green clay kit for example which has two bars is good enough for two years. (Half a bar for each use)

The Megs clay I have used came with a box. You can break the clay into three per bar. Sounds like your car was bad and probably picked up a load of tar thats why I use a Autosmart Tardis first as it makes the clay go further.

I normally use half a bar to do a Vectra sized car, then bin it.
