    confused Smokey SRi

    Hi all,
I have just replaced the inlet manifold and the EGR valve on my Vectra Sri CDti 150 bhp 06 plated. This was due to loss of power and over time the inlet manifold had clogged up (butterfly arm and valves )(common fault on Veccy Cs apparantly) SAAB had a recall on the same Engine i believe, but Vauxhall never, apparently this happens at around 70,000 to 85,000 miles. My Vectra is a working car (taxi). What has ocurred since is baffling me and my mechanic, after a period of time the engine drops in temparature rapidly and once it hits 80dg blue smoke comes from the tailpipe which would indicate Burning Oil. The engine runs at a slightly higher rate which inturn the mpg drops. I have tried various additives to clean the fuel line and even tried WYNNS Stop Smoke treatment in the engine oil. Unfortunately this is happening once a week after it has a good run for the weekend on the motorway. A new timing belt kit was changed at the same time. I am struggling to find a solution for the loss in temp and the Blue smoke???
Can anyone help i would welcome any feedback
    Many thanks
    Mark

Open up the whole engine and check for any head gasket leaks. Are you having any coolant loss mate? I've no idea what it could be so I'm only taking a guess.
