how big is the fuel reserve

now not that i regulary drive around with the petrol light on...but would like to know how big the reserve is on the vectra.
on my last car it would only ever do about 15 to 20 miles witth the light on before getting nervous.

so how many miles before the car really is empty. 1.8 petrol. and for arguements sake lets say town driving.
AND before anyone says - i do know you arent meant to drive around on the dregs and rubbish at the bottom of your tank!

drove my old vec 1.9cdti(120) for 22 miles after the trip computer said zero miles left don't know how much farther it would have gone but that was the night before i traded it

My car enters the RED zone on the gauge at between 30 and 50 miles left
The warning light comes on when there are beween 5 and 2 litres left in the tank
It then starts to flash when there are less than 2 litres in the tank

my ls has no trip computer for fuel etc. just the petrol can light under the fuel gauge. is this the one that flashes?

Yes, the fuel gauge warning light

It should also be noted that running out of fuel in a petrol is not as critical as it is in a diesel
Owners of diesel Vectras should never really let the fuel gauge warning light come on, and if it does should fill as soon as possible

Driving on the red, couldn't do that, mine is always full...
