Hi Guys,
I've just noticed an intermittant problem with the cruise control on my car.
It doesnt always turn on. If I turn the ignition off and then back on, it will work.
I have a 3.2 with Easytronic.
any thoughts?
Thanks

The system requires the brake pedal to be pressed before it will work. By that I mean just the once at the start of the journey, not every time you want to engage the CC.
Also, there have been issues of weak clutch springs, but as yours is easytronic I'm guessing you don't have a clutch pedal.
and dirty contacts in the stalk switches
mine did this, and then sometimes turned itself off whilst i was driving...all around the time i had problems with my brake disk wear sensors telling me they were worn out when they wernt...dunno if this is any help or not but it always seemed to be in really really wet conditions - touch wood they have been ok for months now
Thanks for the info.
I'll keep an eye on it and see if it works next time I come to use it, and see if I can remember whether I've pressed the brake pedal or not.
I'm assuming Easytronic = Tiptronic?
The CC on my GSi auto (tiptronic?) has suffered similar moments. Pulled the left hand indicator stalk out a few months ago and cleaned up all the contacts. Still had the odd CC problem thereafter but recently it's been absolutely fine.
Now I've said its fine, I'll probably use it today and find its thrown a wobbler again.
Guys i have a similair problem. My CC turns itself off when its set... Not sure if anyone knows how to cure it?
