    Smile Regal EDS re-map done

Had the above re-map done at MPG the other day.

Turned out more expensive than I thought, but woth every penny. Car now is completely different. Obviously it is faster, more than I thought it would be, but it is the way it goes that is great. The power is completely useable. 1st and 2nd tends to get the wheels spinning wet or dry, but once it gets going it is certainly impressive. The power is spread over the rev range much better and doesn't just run out after 4000rpm. If anybody reading this is pondering whether or not to get a re-map. Get one. Regardless of who it's made by. It turns the car into a beast.

In all, I love it. Best £500 I have spent in a while. Ian at MPG is very helpfull and for free he removed the restrictor on the top of the airbox and found that Arnold Clark had fitted the air filter for the Astra which is too small. Horay for AC!! Going to start saving now for the Diblas air intakes from the airbox to the turbocharger (much larger) and de-ristricted pipes from the turbocharger to the engine inlet. Then full exhaust system. K&N panel to be fitted next month.

Anybody in the NW fancy a rolling road day somewhere?

PS, to Andy W -sorry I never got back to you re. a run out in yours before I bought mine. I have a baby on the way and have been in a mad rush to get the house ready and got the map done just when I had a minute!!

    OK, Few questiongs to answer..

Midpoint in in Middlewich. Ian nice guy who runs a sorted place. He advertises all over the place inc. Total Vauxhall.

The Diblas air intakes and the pipes running from TC-engine inlets will all be getting ordered and probably fitted at MPG. AIr scoops are about £140 and the pipe about £250. He reckons that with the re-map, completely deristricted air box and the above stuff with a K&N panel filter, the car will see 220+ which is respectable.

I didn't buy the IPF no. The whole package was £720 and I didn't have it spare. I know it is better to buy them both at the same time, but the IPF will have to wait. He has put the Non-EGR map in. I am impressed with it Andy yes. Wasn't quite sure what to expect, but she is a beast. Louder too with the straight through airbox.

Like I say, if anybody is in dire straights over whether or not to do a re-map, if you have the money, get one! You won't be dissapointed.

Just type Diblas into google and you'll get it. It may be in German though! They are about £140 and are almost twice the size of the existing scoop. Get that turbocharger whistling mate!!

Good one mate. Nice to hear your positive tones. Its nice to hear others view on having remapped their cars and how they percieve it to be transformed. For me, my BSR remap best point is the smoothness of power now and makes the car feel really different to drive from normal, its coming up for a year since I did it and still loving it. Enjoy.
