    Default Warranty

Can some one help me please. If I have my car serviced buy a non VXL garage I.e a small independant garage, will this effect my warranty? Garage will use all genuine VXL parts and are VAT registered and they will stamp the service book.

    Thanks in advance.

No problem during the warranty period but as I found out today that once it expires unless you have a full VX dealer service history they will not contribute to any repairs should you car fail just out of the warranty period. (5 days in my case)

they don't have to be approved vx parts...as long as they are oe quality parts then it doesn't affect the warranty, many independant garages use oe quality parts as standard now because it means they can service any car....

The garage must turn over £50k at least apparently.

Manufacturers are not allowed to put conditions on the STANDARD 3 year warranty other than if you modify the parts in question.

If however you have opted or the car was bought second hand with third party warranty then the conditions of that warranty will probably impose service restrictions - intervals/approved garages.

When I say third party warranties that includes extended one by the manufacturer apparantly.
