    Default cracking noise?

    hi guys, does anyone know why i get a loud cracking noise from my drivers side door, it is comming from the door check metal plate that goes inside the door, this happens everytime its opened and closed, the cars only done 39k. any help is appreciated.

    mine made noises but gave all the moving bits a squirt with lube

    done the usual, looked for loose nuts, squert of wd, no joy. its from inside the door and like i said its a loud crack.

    I would use grease rather than WD40. Coat check strap and hinges in grease and work it in to see if that solves the problem. If not it's the check strap.

    replacement check strap about £15 quid did mine last month
    door card off and speaker out undo the bolts slip out of the speaker gap -replace refit speaker and door card - done in about 30 minutes
    no more noise
    there is a how to on replacing speakers which shows how 2 dismantle the door card and where screws etc are - if you need any help give me a shout

    steve and deztroyer many thanks for your help i will try the grease first and if that does not work then its a new check! cheers guys.

    I've got this problem. Tried greasing so it's a replacement strap. Thanks lads.
