Angry MOT fail due to brake pedal creep

Hi all well its been a labour of love this week.....

getting the car ready for its 1st mot since i owned it has took its toll on me.
    x2 rear boomerangs
x2 front springs (both were snapped)
    x2 track rod ends
    x1 track rod
gm oil change (nearly £80) robbing gits
    x2 new tyres (goodyear nct5)

and it ****** failed the mot eeeeekkkkk

well the tester said it had failed on 3.3.b.1a (brake pedal creeps down when held under pressure)

well im off to the local vaux steelers and would like a 2nd opinion as i have read on here and other places that its a symptom called diesel creep.

with engine switched off and pedel pumped it goes rock hard and does not sink, when engine is started and pedal pumped it will sink down.

i done a brake test and it stops spot on and abs kicks in on emergency brake test!

so i now need to speak to a vaux tech for advice (i may have the brake fluid changed even though others have done the same and it didnt make any difference)

i will keep you all informed..... i even missed the ne rolling road day due to the major front end repairs (sorry chunk m8)

Pedal creep on these IS normal, and can catch people out who dont know about it.

it just goes to show that standards are not even across the board

    the pedal creep is normal

the first time i noticed it on my vec i thought i had a problem and booked it into vx straight away
when told this was normal i raised my concerns about this failing an mot and was told under no circumstances would my car fail an mot with this

A fluid change will make no difference. It is inherent in diesels due to how the brake servo pressure depression is created (via a vacuum pump) and is normal.

    Interesting link http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_330.htm

That's an interesting read. Perhaps with some MOT stations you will have to tell them (because some may be morons) that you have a servo assisted hydraulic system.

    Update!
well been to the stealers and they confirmed that it is known to them but they wernt to helpful.

went to another mot center and they said the same "he should have passed it " he said

so on the way home i called to the mot center and i spoke to the tester,he had just had another veccy in and it showed the same thing he said and said he was going to phone me .
so a new pass certificate has been made out ..... job done

ime sure there is a lesson to be learnt here ..... but i dont know what!

    cheers...baz

Is it only on diesels that this is normal?

It happens on my car too and its a petrol engine... It worried me at first until someone said they all did it.
