    Default Scottish highland weekender

Right then Guys. thought i would re do this and tidy it up a bit.

    Date
    - Saturday 27th may

    The Route
Leave stirling head to Balloch(A811)then follow loch lomond all the way up to Crianlarich(A82) then onto Glencoe(get to the clachaig early for some refreshments and dinner).

Very simple route to follow and it goes through some of the best scenery in Scotland. The route on AA takes around 2.4 hours so this will give everyone time for food, photos and if kids are going its not too much for them.

Times to be confirmed nearer the date but i reckon an early start say 9 -10am from stirling will give plenty of time to take in some scenery. Fort William very near and some cracking views to be had from a couple of good spots if anyone fancies it.

    List of names -

    1 ) graeme - Staying over - confirmed
    2) Redbullkid & Redbullwife - Overnighter ??
    3) Gil16e & mrs G - need to confirm with the boss about overnighter
    4) blr123 & possibly Mrs blr
    5) david bell & mrs b -overnighter maybe ????
    6) ALD & Mrs ALD - Overnighter

Can all on the list please pass confirm they are going.

Most folk will be getting free buses to and from the nevis range from town so the stretch between Fort William and the nevis range will be busy.

Expect traffic on the A82 (I think through Glencoe etc) to be busy Thursday, Friday and Sunday evening.

They're expecting around 20,000 folk over the whole weekend...so beds in the area are a scarce thing.

We can't get a room at the Clachaig Inn, they only had 1 single room left, so I'm looking at the Isles of Glencoe Hotel, which is 5miles away, and a 9min drive according to the AA site. This one is situated just along the A82.

If we can't get that we'll just go up and leave sometime after dinner, I'm sure it will still be a great day

Any ideas yet where in Stirling we will meet?

ive stayed at the isles of glencoe Alan and its quite nice ..i would say that it seems a bit further away than the time stated by the AA website.
Im not even sure about the taxi side of things around glencoe/ballachlish area, im sure there will be some sort of transport available due to the world cup mountain biking.

i got a taxi to glencoe hotel once last year. you have to pre book it after 9pm. If accomadation is scarce we could always just make it a day trip thing, do the drive then get some food etc?
