    Default Traction control!!

Figured out today why my facelift TC button does'nt work.

And it is a really simple answer. It has not got traction control at all!!!! So this explains the reason, you can't switch off something that is not there in the first place!!!!

But I have to say, it was only when I broke traction on some grass that I realised. Even in the wet weather it grips very well.

You're joking!!! Your facelift SRi hasn't got TC as standard!!?

<quick pause while he grabs the facelift brochure>......

Specs say they still have TC as standard, except the 1.8.

Are you meaning you've bought a TC switch and it hasn't done anything (even though it may have the socket behind)? This has happened to other guys on their pre-facelifts - seems to be a lottery as to whether the TC switch works or not.

    Or have I completely misunderstood?

Are you sure Matt? When I turn the ignition on the TC light appears for a couple of seconds.
When I was stuck in mud it flashed like crazy too!

I think the real reason the TC button doesn't work is because that switch is set-up for the optional (not even available now?) rear sunblind...

I have double checked, I have no TC light when the ignition is turned on.

I will go out in a bit on a peice of grass to check again, but it appears the TC is not even there.

Nope, just been out, it will spin till it's hearts content if you let it.

A e-mail to Vauxhall is being written as we speak, I am a little concerned that the 2006 brochure state's in their 'Safety' section standard TC!!

Thought I read somewhere a while ago that TC gets turned off if you are towing, perhaps having the tow bar fitted did it???

That's what I was meaning earlier on. It's still listed as standard on all models except 1.8.
