lidl engine oil

i see lidl doing 5w40 synthetic for 3.99 litre about £20 gallon dont know what its like, its called w5 supertech

anyone shed any light ? I heard all synthetic oil is made by only a handful of refineries and is all good quality. Does it have any specifications on it ? Might get some, fancy doing my own oil change on wife's & Daughters cars.

not much on it, just says high-alloyed oil for optimal engine operation and protection, they are also doing part synthetic ecotech 10w40 for £9.99 gallon

Unless there is the latest ACEA or SAE approvals, then I would avoid.

The genuine VX oil isn't that far adrift on price anyway. Personally, I will stick to VX oil (at least it is the right viscosity at 5W - 30)
