Time for me to change my car and for you to perhaps pick up a bargain!!
I am selling my 1.9CDTi (120) 04 reg with 118k miles on the clock. Most of these are motorway miles.
I got the car in September 07. Previous to that it was a company car for a pest control company (no pests in the car though!!).
It was last serviced at a garage at 80k (if i remember correctly). Since then I've serviced it myself. I've had the following done to it:
- Cambelt and waterpump done at circa 94k
- rear shocks and rear springs done at circa 90k
- Oil changed regularily, last done at 110k
- Both upper rear control arms done at circa 100k
Now... here's whats "wrong" with the car. It does need a bit of TLC.
The car rolled into another car at my workplace carpark in October 2008! I swear I had the handbrake on but who knows. Speed was probably less than 5km but it caused some minor damage to the front as you can see on the pictures below.
The headlight is still in its proper place, not cracked and I don't think it's an MOT failure but the top and bottom bracket is broken. I think this can be plastic welded. The bumper is still in its correct place but the subframe (or the metal bar under the bumper is slightly bent from the impact). You can see on the first picture that there is a big gap between one of the bumper screws and the bit where it should be attached to the frame (it's a plastic thing but it's screwed to the metal frame which is slightly dented). The car still handles perfectly and has no impact on the driving.
One (or more) bushes at the front need changing. I don't know which one! It only creeks when it's cold (below 9c) and when driving over speedbumps. Once the car has been driven a bit or its over 9c there is no creaking....weird.
There is a similar sound coming from the rear nearside suspension. This does NOT go away. I've had a look at the suspension but I can't figure out which bush is worn.... The noise is very load over uneven road and when pushing the back down it makes a horrible squeeky noise. Still, it does not impact driving or handling.
Front nearside tyre needs replacing.
Some minor paint scratches (nothing major). Although the nearside rear bumper has a largish scratch on it.
I don't know what to sell this car for but I am willing to take offers. If you want to have a look at it or test drive it feel free to contact me. I'm based between high wycombe and aylesbury in buckinghamshire.
I'll take some photos of the car tomorrow in the light and update this post.
Again, I'm open to offers. In perfect condition I would probably have it up for around £3k but I'm am willing to accept much less than that (within reason of course).
If you know the vectra inside out these might be easy problems to fix. You can fix it and sell it for a profit!
Any questions, give me a shout.
