Intermittent Cruise Control Problem

Every now and again I have a problem with my cruise control, if I disable it and then try to enable it again it won't switch back on.
The only way to get it to enable is to switch off the ignition and turn it back on.

My brother-inlaw has an 06 CDXI Vectra and he has had the same problem from time to time.

Am wondering if this is a common fault in Vectra's, am interested if anyone else has the same intermittent problem.

Might be the spring on the clutch pedal.

aye have you tried to put your foot under the clutch pedal and just give it a gentle little pull that usualy works

The three things I've encountered during my ownership of three different Vectra C's are:

1) Clutch pedal switch- give pedal a tap and then re-try to engage.
2) Brake pedal switch - give pedal a tap and then re-try to engage.
3) If there's an underlying defect that your ECU is picking up on then depending on the fault it can inhibit the Cruise Control engagement - try a fault code read to see if there is a code present and try to clear it.

Yep me to.
If I hit the slow down button it goes off untill I restart the car.
If I hit the Cancel button it goes off but I can re set it

Tryed all the clutch and brake things with no luck!

Dirty stalk switch connections?? Contact spray and rapid switching to clean - worked for mine.

I agree with ste, the buttons are a bit rubbish and get bunged up easily.

I have a problem with mine sometimes. The cruise won't activate unless I press the button really hard.

Cheers guys....I will give them all a try, it is a bit of a pain in the ass to fault find as it only happens now and again.

hi people i have a problem with the cruise control on my 56 plate vectra c ,it intermitantly switches off i have replaced the control arm, the clutch switch the brake switch the throttle pedal complete and it still dose it, im tieing a noose at the moment so please for give me if i dont reply for some time. thanx guys. sad man............
