My 2006 06 Vectra 1.9CDTi 150 originally bought on the 10th March 2006 kicked the car with a spanner light on this morning. I left home, got to the place I was going and parked for 10 minutes then started the drive home, turned out of the carpark, up to some lights turned left and had very little power and the turbo wasn't opperating. I stoped switched everything off and tried again but the light came back on.
Yesterday my Mum was driveing my Dad's Astra 1.7CDti and the engine management kicked in on that also and it went in to limp mode. She stopped and phoned the AA as mum's do. The AA advised her to stop the engine and restart and it has been ok since.
Dad's will be a warenty job no problem but mine is now 5 days out of warenty. I know the ins and outs of consumer law etc so I know that items should last a reasonable lenght of time and I don't beleive a car costing nearly £20000 should just last 3 years. I hope the dealership is going to sort this out for me on vauxhalls tab.
So whats the process? take it to the dealer and ask them to fix it under warrenty or phone vauxhall and ask them to instruct the dealership to fix it under warrenty? or should I just wait to see what the dealership says? It had the EGR valve done a month of so ago I sort of hoped that would be all the known problem sorted out, Ive had the other problems sorted.
Just to top the weekend off yesterday I was replaceing the spare with the alloy on my sisters corsa and the ****** locking wheel bolt key disintegrated on the 2nd time it has been used the first time was putting the spare on the night before.
