    Default painting the "V"

    whats the best way to prep and paint the "V" on a facelift vectra? is there an easy way to do it?

    sand it down, just to get a rough finish for the paint to adhere. Two coats of primer, 3 of base coat and two of laquer. Then polish (id do that 24 hours after painting)

    Make sure you tape up what you dont want to spray. Do it outside, but bring it indoors to dry else the laquer wont shine.

    Make sure you read the directions on the paint for hoe long between coats.



    I know mines a pre face lift, but same principle

    I rubbed mine down with some wet & dry, then gave it 2-4 light coats of primer, dont rush it.... then 4 coats of paint each time just a light dusting to build it up, and then a few coats of laquer and thats that

    Alternatively, How much would a VXR grill insert be ? If you can just buy the "V" ??

    you got a picture from further out and i am considering doing this to my pre-face lift. silver lightning though. that pic looks sweet though.
