    confused Biodiesel on a 2.0DTi??

Can i put biodiesel straight into my tank as 100% bio diesel with no modifications to the car? or would i need to convert it like you do for vegtable oil? i drive a 2.0DTi engined car and i know the pumps are a bit tender if you run crap diesel through so would i be able to run bio diesel?

    Ta for any advice

    Will

Don't listen to benny and SteveH, they're talking crap tbh.

I ran my 2.0DTi for 18 months over 20k on bio, mostly 100% bio, sometimes 70% bio, and the odd time 30% bio (usually during winter). The car went far better on the bio. A taxi man down the street runs his 2.0DTi C on 100% he makes himself, 150k on bio and still going strong, engine has 180k on it and pulls as well as the day it was new.

You can't just chuck veg oil in though, it needs to be proper biodiesel.

bio diesel solidifiys it needs different filters and a inline heater because the colder it gets the thicker the fuel gets alot of trucks run on bio fuel but it causes lots of problems . blocking pipe work / filters ect so i would not recomend it as some people have commented that they use bio fuel they may have been lucky but as to now they have not seen the damage it causes . i do understand that in the future every diesel vehicle will have to run on a mixture of bio and diesel

You don't know what you're talking about either.

It solidifies at 100% bio around 0C. Add 30% real diesel, and oh look! It doesn't do that any more.

All Vauxhalls have filter heaters as standard, so that's not even a problem anyway.

In the future all cars must run on a mixture? Like as of November 2008 when all UK filling stations had to start selling 5% biodiesel at the pumps. Or a different future?

We've done the whole biodiesel thing on this forum before, and if you search you'll see there's a heap of people running on it over extended mileages with no problems.

I know of someone running a 2.0dti veccy b on it with no problems, they have also tried 100% veg oil and it was ok on that too.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
