    Default Service code?

My trip odo flashes lnSP for a few moments when I start the car. It then goes away. Is that the service indicator?

Yes. I think you will find your car has been programed fpr this to come up annually. To stop it doing it. If you turn on the ignition(don,t start the car, just get the ignition lights to come on). then holding the brake pedel down, press the button on the oddmeter (speedo) hold for a few seconds, that should rest it till next time.

    what that means ?
The sequence you were given is wrong. You need to hold in the trip (and possibly the brake pedal down - see below) BEFORE turning on the ignition.

    Ignition Off
Hold Trip Reset In (keep held in)
    Turn on Ignition
Still Hold Trip Reset for approx 12 seconds, the InSP should change.
    release trip reset.
    switch off ignition
    switch on ignition and check.

If that doesn't work, then with your car you *might* also have to press the brake pedal.

    Ignition Off
Hold Trip Reset In (keep held in)
Press brake pedal (and keep pressed)
    Turn on Ignition
Still Hold Trip Reset and brake pedal for approx 12 seconds, the InSP should change.
    release brake and trip reset.
    switch off ignition

I assume you have actually done the service actions required, and not just simply turned off the indicator????
