Me and Mrs Ste are going to Paris next weekend, just for a break, and as it's my birthday next week.
It's been a few years since I last went, what would people recommend to do? Museums are not really on, as they take too long to trudge round.
TIA

There are some classics in some of the museums but, as you say, they take a while to cover fully, and they are a bit expensive just to see one thing like the Mona Lisa. Perhaps something to do on a rainy day though?
For culture I prefer views of the city. There are plenty of things to go 'up'. The Eiffel Tower is an obvious one - I think you can beat some of the queues by walking the first bit. Trouble is, you don't get the Eiffel Tower in the view - there's a big tower block in Montparnasse which gives a great view north-ish of the entire city. Arc de Triomphe, the arch at La Defence, Notre Dame and Sacre Couer are all climbable too.
Failing all that I guess it's plain old eating and drinking!
just get the day ticket for the hop off hop on bus tour ,takes you too all the sightseeing places ,then just decide if you wanna pays the money or not to go in/up them .
a deffinate is a walk down to the notra dame area in the evening
I've not been for 5 years, so can't advise you much!
Hope you both enjoy it though mate, it's a beautiful place.
Incidentally, is it just me but isn't cdg airport really ugly? Who the hell designed it, & then thought I know we'll leave most of it a nice browny grey colour. You can get in a lift, the doors close, then open again & you can't tell at all if the lift actually moved anywhere, it looks the same!
You cannot go wrong with Paris, it is a very romantic place indeed and a lot to see...

I wish I had done more of this in New York, the bus tour is a very good idea, it gives you a run down and the histroy also...
Really looking forward to the photos, I am off to Paris to see my cousins later this year, cannot wait!
Hope you both have a great time....
The last time I visited I was only 14 years old however it made a lasting impression on me & hope to revisit again sometime, have fun whatever you do enjoy it ......
Cheers, I'd pretty much got most of them on my list, apparently The Notre Dame area is very nice of an evening to eat, drink and watch the world go by......
CDG is dreary, been there a couple of times, and it's one of the worst looking airports I've been to.
One or 2 in my time.
Maybe I should compose a list, might be interesting for me to think about....
I took mrs shippers there for a valentine weekend this year and we liked the eiffle tower it is worth having a look at at night as the lights that cover it look good, they are on for a few minuets each hour. Its nice to just wonder round taking in the nice streets, champs elyesse is worth going to see with the arc de triumphe at the top of it and louvre at the other end.
Hope you have a nice time.
