    Am going to do this but there seems to be some confusion with regards disconnecting the battery neg lead.

    I have a 2.2DTI on a 52 plate and changing the filter and the bottom plastic bit seems straight forward, cant get why you need to disconnect the battery though?

    (sorry for the repeat post, but no reply to the other)

    The idea is so the ECU relearns its new parameters. With more air coming in fueling should be altered accordingly.

    I made this mod last weekend but i didn't disconnect the battery.

    If I was to do so, so the ECU will 're-learn' what would be the knock on effect. Will the stereo need re-coding, what else may need doing?

    Will my car not be fuel efficient until I have disconnected the battery for a reset?
