    Default bonnet release

    Is there a fault with the bonnet release on the vectra i have owned 2 now and the catch will not pop the bonnet open you have to hold it and have someone else lift the bonnet

    I had the same problem with mine when i got it,i just lubricated the spring and catch with grease and not had a problem since............

    there is also a cable adjuster under the bonnet too, undo the screw pull the cable tight and do up the screw worked for me

    Mine is the same, its so bad that after I pull the lever, I can wedge my finger underneath the bonnet and open it.

    Had the similar a few weeks ago, but couldn't open it at all at first , took me around 30 mins , by pulling lever then pushing and pulling on bonnet until finally popped it, greased catch in slam panel and all around catch on bonnet itself, in fact anything I could see relating to the catch got greased, now it's good as gold.

    once you have open the bonnet you will see the cable with a black braket on it, which hooks into the slam panel and at the bottom of it is a self tapper screw

    As Glynn says, loosen this screw, slide the outer slightly tauter and tighten the screw - no more issues.
