just done the same thing myself mate and welcome first of all

Screw driver is used on the underside of the steering wheel to gently prise a little lever as your doing this gently pull the airbag towards you. Then do the otherside, they are at the 3oclock and 9oclock the positions on the underside of the wheel.

You'll have to change the whole dash if the passenger bag has blown through it. Any probs gimme a shout. by the way, the steering wheel airbag is a git to remove, be patient and dont force it too much.

dash is one piece...you need to remove everything in the front IE steering wheel glove box .centre consul
radio radio cage both A pillar covers the list is endless.and be careful of the centre speaker in the centre dash airvent

plasma got most pieces off of fleabay

ck out plasma little project thread and you will see the extent of work involved

Don't forget that the battery needs disconnected and left for 15 mins before you start prodding around the airbags. Probably obvious but thought best mentioned as it hadn't been in this thread.

15mins isnt a must, Vx recommend 1 min, but people allow 15mins 'just in case'. You can buy a new front end with everything you need, but there arent a lot of these being sold and are quite costly.

As an example I paid £350 for the dash, drivers airbag, passenger airbag, selt belt tensioners and ECU. You MUST match the idents (two letters like DW for example) on these items to the replacement items you source.

What engine/year car you fixing? Some piccies would be nice to see a before and after shot.

Yep, I was just erring on the side of caution when giving the info - didn't want to say "Only a minute" and it goes when he went to remove it.
