    Default Remap Vectra

    Hi all

    I just bought a 06 Vectra 1.9CDTI 150 - i am interested in getting it chipped.

Is there an option to get better fuel economy or is it just for extra power?
I live in Retford, Notts (not far from Doncaster) can anyone recommend someone for me

    Cheers
    chris

Hi Chris, the BSR from LMF, and flash the ECU yourself.

With the BSR PPC you are paying for the convenience of being able to remap and revert to standard as you wish, There are quite a few remaps that are cheaper, but not many that offer the vehicle owner the ability to remap and revert as they see fit.. Its not exactly hard to remap a car either, the BSR PPC and Regal IPF will only take a few minutes to do..

yeah fair point, but suppose you take the car for a service and VX do an ecu update whilst its there, you then have to go back to get the remap redone, The superchips remap is £435, the BSR is only £115 dearer at £550, £115 isn't lot extra to pay for the convenience of being able to remap or revert to standard at will.. If you have a BSR (and maybe the IPF aswell) and the ecu is updated by VX then you just download a copy of the ecu and send it to BSR, they will incorporate the ecu update into your remap file, 3 minutes after plugging the PPC into the OBD port and your done...
I'd be happy to have my car remapped and not have the PPC to do it myself, but i wouldn't go to superchips, i'd go to someone like TorquingBHP (approved trader on here) and get it done for £299, which is £135 cheaper than superchips!

Look at the approved traders on here, TorquingBHP will do the remap for £299, if you explain to Darrell (who owns TorquingBHP) that your after more mpg rather than power he should be able to help you out..

I'm now totally convinced that 'Big-Pete' has shares in BSR.

I should also point out to those that want a remap other than the BSR PPC kind (not available on V6 ),that I recently took my car for a service and they reflashed the ECU! All part of the service apparently ? So don't be too far away from the place that remaps your car.
