Default Direct Line - turn up for the books...

Got my renewal notice today, priced at £687 (23yrs old, 6yrs protected NCB, 3 points for SP30 in June08)

I was a little disappointed, as it had gone up £60 since last year, and as I'm nearing the magical 25, thought it would start to drop..

Got a quote from SwiftCover for £587.00 and in the end, after my 4yrs loyalty with them, they got it down to £592.00 with b/down cover - which I accepted

    Happy days!

    Indeed it does...

Makes you wonder why they didnt send me their best possible renewal price in the first place though, suppose they try their hand at getting people to pay it!

No need to worry for 12 months now

They did that to me last time after being with them for 6 years they suddenly upped the premium. After shopping around, I got it £100 less and DL couldn't match it.

Although, just done a quote on a VXR and they were strangely one of the cheapest again!

I had my renewal through this month - £287, '04 3.0CDTi SRi, 30 y/o, 5yrs NCD, business use, fully comp, no mods (as there are none!).

Did a comparison and checked Direct Line. The cheapest was in excess of £350. So I'll be staying with Swiftcover for the 3rd consecutive year.

From what I've read, Swiftcover are regularly the cheapest but fall down when you actually need to claim... The review sites you read all this on rarely have good thigns to say about any company though, as people only go on to complain...

The service from Direct Line is top notch and worth paying a little extra for IMO.
    All British call centres too.

Amazing how they always manage to knock something off the price when you call them to say you won't be renewing........
