Default Diy tinted Signum rear lights

I bought a can of red light tint spray a few weeks ago and since the weather today was nice i thought i would give it a go.

Originally i was going to tint them black but the issues regarding the reflector kind off put me off. Either mask of the reflector which would leave a red square in the middle of the lights, or buy seporate red reflectors and place elsewhere which would look a bit pants So red it was

The lights need a few coats of laquer and then buffed to a shine to finish them off, but for now they don't look too bad, especially for an amateur

And yes, once again, the car is mingin

Hopefully, the reflector is untouched, and the indicators still flash orange, the reverse light is a wee bit pink looking but the mot station i use isn't too bad, hopefully if that's all it is he will pass it. Worse case scenario, i get out the paint thinners

I'm no expert, but I wonder about the legality as well.

That aside, the all over red isn't my cup of tea - - but if you like it then that's all that matter. Did you not fancy just tinting the lens a bit darker? - someone else did that on their Signum and it didn't turn out too badly.

was this pretty easy to do?

wondering if i can get away with tinting my orange tipped ones smoked, to save on buying new.

Anyone tried it? would it work?

    cheers

I prefer the dark/black tinted ones, but they look good IMO.

I'm liking the reg plate too!

i think they look well!! my car passed mot on mon there, and over here in NI anyway, they never check the reversing light!! i had tinted the lights i had in a wee vw polo i had years ago, passed no probs all the time!! my mums golf rear lights are tinted darker than them at the mo, and they always pass too!! so its prob 50/50!!
