    Default Service and MOT tomorrow

MOTs due and of the month so the cars booked in to be serviced and MOTd - only problem is that I have to have it done at Arnold Clark, cos when I got the car I stupidly took out the 'Clarkplan'

This was £299 for 2 MOTs and 2 services

Of course with all the problems I've had with them I really didn't want anything more to do with them, but the wife won't let me get the car serviced elsewhere for the extra cash...

Anyway, can anyone tell me what will be included (or not ) in the 'Clarkplan' service? I know that 'you get what you pay for' so I'm not expecting a thourough service (but it would be nice)

Has anyone else taken out this plan? Will they charge me for oil, plugs etc? Will they even change these things??? Your advice would be appreciated

    Thanks guys

Don't you know what you have paid for? Just ask what's included after all it's your money. ..

I got the arnold clark service plan free when i got the gsi, like you mine will be going in at the end of the month and im not looking forward to it as ive had huge problems with them but as ive got this at least the oil and filter and MOT will get done.

You will get a new oil and filter (just check they have changed them)and before you start the car after getting the keys check the oil level to check its on the max mark on the dipstick.
Your levels i.e. screenwash, brake fluid and whatever else topped up.
    Your MOT.

They will probably try and get you to change your pads and disks so check them before it goes in to make sure they do need done as they try and change them even if there fine!

To be honest, I didn't really know much about service intervals, what you got done at different times etc etc until I came to this site. Call me naive but I thought a service was a service no matter where you went. So, did I know what I paid for? Simple answer is no.

Think my pads will need doing anyway. If the car passes the MOT with them, I'll get some and do them myself though!

DO them before it goes in otherwise they WILL change them without asking you first.
