    Default Stereo Query

    Hi All

Total newbie here with a CDTi 150 (Facelift).

Everytime I put the key in the ignition to start, the sodding radio/CD player starts up!

How can I get it to remain OFF until I want to turn it on?!

Also, how does one do the air box restrictor mod thing I have heard about?

Appreciate your replies in advance! Thanks

You will have to get that feature of the radio Tech2'd off by the dealer. Airbox mod; take the top of the airbox off and remove the filter. In the bottom of the airbox there is a 'scoop' type thing. get hold of the front of it and give it a firm tug and it will come off. Put the filter and the lid back. Mod done

Merci bien for the swift response!

Will certainly do the airbox mod when its lighter outside!

Any particular reason the stereo needs T2??

It functions perfectly in all other regards. Also, if I opt for the CD30 (MP3), will I still retain use of my steering controls?

Won't deactivating the ignition logic feature stop this happening?

Admittedly, you do have to make sure you switch off the radio when you stop the engine with this deactivated???

Quite right. Going in to "settings" and turning off "ignition logic" stops the stereo switching on every time you start the car.

Sorry to sound dumb about it but here goes:

Do I need the key to be in the ignition and if so, what position??

Also, do I need to actually turn the stereo off before pressing the "Settings" button?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if ignition is on or off!! I'm sure it works either way!!
