Default Dash trim removal - Please help

    All,

How do you remove the silver dash trim pannel (the one that runs along the dash above glove box etc...) - do they just pull off - any tips..

Also, the same trims on the door cards - do they just pull off - or is ot part of the card?

    Cheers

    Anthony

    Default

As per the other thread, the long one just pulls off. The one above the headlight switch has a Torx screw that holds it. It's only accessible if the headlight switch is removed. Process for that is push the headlight switch knob in and at the same time (whilst keeping it pushed in) turn it to the sidelights setting. This releases a couple of lugs that stick out of the unit and it will probably shoot backwards into the dash bit. Simply grab the knob with your fingers and pull the switch unit it out. You'll then see the Torx screw that goes into the bottom of the trim.

    Correction

As per the other thread, the screw I referred to only holds the steering wheel trim in place - not the trim strip. That just pulls off - so no need to remove the headlight switch.
