Default Bilstein B4's on an SRI

I need to replace the springs on my 2.2 SRi and will be putting on the APEX ones from LMF (lowers by 30mm, although around 15mm on the SRi). My last MOT said that I had a weak rear shock, so before it's due I was planning to replace them with the Bilstein B4's. As the SRi is 15mm lower than standard and then a further 15mm lower with the new springs, will the B4's work fine on the SRi. The B6's are well over 3 times the price. So even if the B4's wore out quicker, would need to have to replace them 3 times to make up the cost.

So would the B4's be fine on an SRi model?

well i think the SRI's (which i have) are 15-20mm lower than non SRI's and mine is fine so i cant see as a few more MM will hurt it, i wouldnt drop it on standard shocks as they dont function with rest of standard setup let alone with more constant pressure on them lol

There have been a few reports of B4's crashing on lowered SRi's. They are the same length as stock LS/Club shocks, so your really taking them to the limit putting them on lowered SRi set up.

It was that reason why I want to go for B6's - then everything suspension-wise seemed to hike by 30% about a month back...

Once you end up paying for B6s and Eibach Pros, there's now very little price difference between the total price and one of the junior coilover kits from LMF - just to add that into the mix!
