Default 2 Soldiers Shot Dead in Northern Ireland

As someone who served in Ireland twice in the late sixties and early seventies at the height of the trouble there, it saddens me to read that 2 more of our brave guys were shot dead last night.
We just seem totally unable to live together regardless of race or religion without killing each other.
Brings back bad memories for me.

My thoughts go out to the families.

You tried to make a difference. RIP guys.

After hearing yesterday that we had SAS operating over there still... i was expecting it to kick off...

I suspect sas was over there since the ceasefire, but the media was very very wrong for reporting it yesterday

    I don't disbelieve it tbh..

I think the MEDIA yesterday was extremly reckless when reporting what they did yesterday.... I even said to the misses u watch i bet you it kicks off over there in the next few weeks...

I feel so strongly about what the MEDIA did that I hold them semi responsible for these poor guys deaths.

Thoughts go out to all the onvolved families.

Saw this on Sky last night just after I'd finished watching Ross kemp in Afganistan. I thought we'd left all this behind in Northern Ireland but obviously not.

    RIP.

as someone who has been brought up in belfast and born in 1974 right into the middle of the so called troubles, this news also brings me sadness and anger.
a group (the real ira) have claimed responability and have also said they have no sympathy for the civilian pizza delivery guys of one is critical and the other is seriously injured in hospital, because wait for it ,"they were serving the occupying forces

i also totally agree with diet1985,throughout the years of the troubles and the media and propaganda along with it,have a lot of blood on there hands in northern ireland.

    Real IRA have admitted responsibility.

Shooting down 6 people, killing 2 of them, and wounding the 4 others is not the way to achieve a united Ireland.

The pizza guys were deliberately targeted under the "don't serve the Brits" rule. One of the pizza guys was a Polish national FFS, and the soldiers were to fly out to Afghanistan tomorrow too....

I honestly think these guys have wiped out the last 12 years of work by the politicians.
